For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9

We are back in Chiang Mai after a great time of teaching in different places in the States, an outreach in the North-eastern area of Thailand and a visit to South Africa. We were very busy in Cape Town preaching everywhere and had opportunities to visit my youngest son in Port Elizabeth and my mother in Durban as well as friends in Piketberg and Hermanus. We thank the Lord for all the amazing opportunities and Divine appointments that He gave us during the time in the US, Thailand as well as in SA. There are so many stories to tell but a particular one, was of George, about 60, whom we met in a coffee shop. He was very negative and difficult and came with all sorts of excuses. When we had to leave, we stood up and asked him in the middle of the coffee shop, if we could pray for him. He agreed and we hugged him while praying and the next moment he just burst out in tears. The Holy Spirit had touched his life. We had some tough scenarios as well but it's not about who wins, it's about the seed that was planted with love and truth. We are only the postmen who deliver the message and leave the results to the Holy Spirit.

During the outreach in Thailand we had to go into the rice paddies and rural areas and were privileged to be able to distribute hundreds of Gospel tracts, DVD's in the Isaan language and shared the Gospel everywhere with translators from YWAM and also with the English speaking. It was quite muddy as it was rainy season, but we "survived". We also visited some of the Christians there and worked with the local pastors. We hope to return in 2013.

We have arrived ahead of time in Chiang Mai, to lay the ground work and get everything prepared for 2013. Jono is working with Create International and I will be working with YWAM Thailand. Jono will be staffing a DTS with about 20 students for 3 months and will then take them to an unreached area for a 3 month outreach.

This is the first time in nearly 10 years of ministry that we are not together 24/7 and I have to be honest, that it isn't easy, but I'm coping, as it is His presence that fills the void and knowing that I can do all things through Him that strengthens me. Everything within me screams to have a normal life, to be back in SA, watch TV, visit friends and people (culture) that I know, enjoy amazing weather, eat "boerekos"....but for Jesus, I will persevere, be content, reach out to the unreached and do His will.........

"Believers who have the gospel keep mumbling it over and over to themselves. Meanwhile, millions who have never heard it once fall into the flames of eternal hell without ever hearing the salvation story." - K.P. Yohannan

There were quite a few hick-ups since we our arrival here. First of all, we bought the cheapest possible air-tickets from Bangkok to Chiang Mai but we didn't know about the small print. The shocking news was that they charge extra for every kilogram over 15 kilos per person and then gave us an amount close to R6000 to pay. We had to pray and make an urgent decision. The result was that Jono had to fly out, with one small bag because he had to be at Create International that day for a meeting. I had to make an 11 hour bus trip to Chiang Mai, with ALL the bags. I arrived in CM at 3 am. Thank the Lord that it cost us very little and we saved nearly R6000 ($675).

I rented a moped and had an accident 5 days ago. There was oil on the road and it started to rain. I was still going straight when the next moment, I felt the tar. This all happened in a very busy double lane street, but through His grace I was safe next to the road within a minute. This all happened right next to a western medic and another westerner kindly helped me get the motorbike out of the road. Well, I'm quite scratched up on my knees and elbows and I think the thing that hurt the most was my ego. My special trousers (very thin for the heat) are un-repairable but replaceable.

I was looking for a small apartment, because it would be cheaper than a hostel/hotel or a guesthouse, but could only find a condo (bachelor pad) that is about 40 square meters and only available from 1 January, because this is peak season. I have had an appointment with the YWAM Director in CM and will meet soon with the rest of the leadership etc. to discuss preparation and planning for 2013.

We wish you all an awesome Jesus festival and we pray that the Lord will keep you safe, that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and that you will experience Him in an new and intimate way like never before during this season.

Thank you for all your prayers and please continue to pray for us as we will really need God's protection, provision and wisdom as we plan to go to very rural areas and to travel to nearly unreachable places and people.

Thank God for protecting us during the outreaches and that He enabled us to share the Gospel daily to Atheists, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. and could visit missionaries and edify and train outreach teams so far away. We thank the Lord for His Devine protection and provis
